What is the LNAT?
The LNAT (Law National Aptitude Test) is the admissions test used by nine UK universities to select law applicants - including Oxford, UCL, Durham, Bristol, King's College London, Glasgow, Nottingham, SOAS and LSE. It tests your reading comprehension and logical reasoning, not your knowledge of law. There is no syllabus to revise.
The test has two sections. Section A is 42 multiple-choice questions in 95 minutes, based on 12 reading passages. Section B is a 40-minute essay from a choice of three topics. Section A is scored out of 42, with the average UK applicant scoring around 22. Top candidates score 27 or higher.
Most applicants need 6-12 weeks of structured practice to perform at their best. Practising under timed conditions is the single biggest predictor of a strong score - far more than reading any guide or textbook.
Frequently asked questions
Is the free paper really free?
Yes. There is no card required, no email upsell, and no hidden cost. You add it to your cart, complete the £0 checkout, and download the PDF instantly.
How is the free diagnostic different from the paid bundles?
The free diagnostic is a single 42-question paper designed to show you your starting score and identify weak areas. The paid bundles contain 4 or 8 full-length papers covering different topic areas and difficulty levels - which is what you need to actually prepare for the real test, not just measure your starting point.
How many practice papers do I need?
Most students who score competitively on the LNAT have done at least 4-6 full-length practice papers under timed conditions. One paper is enough to know where you stand. It is not enough to actually prepare.
When should I start preparing?
For Oxford applicants the LNAT registration deadline is 5 October. For other UK universities you can sit it up to 15 January. Most students start serious preparation 6-8 weeks before they sit the test.
What score do I need for Oxford or UCL?
There is no fixed cut-off. Successful Oxford and UCL applicants typically score 27 or higher on Section A, plus a strong Section B essay. The UK average is around 22. Your target should be at least 25, ideally higher.
Is there a money-back guarantee on the paid bundles?
Yes. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the practice papers, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund - no questions asked.
Can I get a discount?
Yes - use coupon code LNAT10 at checkout for 10% off either bundle. The coupon is limited to one use per customer.
